Global Shapers Kohima conducts literacy workshop in Rüsoma

Kohima, January 18 (MExN): The Global Shapers Kohima Hub, an initiative of the Global Shapers Community hosted by the World Economic Forum, conducted a workshop on Financial Empowerment as part of the first phase of its Digital and Financial Literacy Campaign at Rüsoma village in Kohima district on January 17.

The workshop featured Paweü Kayina, CEO and founder of Moneybar, as the resource person. The session was moderated by Dr Kivi Swu (PT), while a brief introduction to the Global Shapers Kohima Hub was presented by its curator, Mr Thungchibemo N Ezung.

Addressing the participants, Kayina underscored the importance of effective money management through proper budgeting and informed investment decisions. She emphasised that saving is a crucial step towards achieving long-term financial freedom. She also educated the youth on precautionary measures to safeguard themselves against digital and online financial scams.

During the programme, the project lead and impact officer of the Kohima Hub, Muzivoto Kotso, encouraged the village youth organisations to reach out to the Kohima Hub to organise similar awareness sessions in their respective communities.

The workshop was attended by youth from Rüsoma Village and concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing gratitude and reaffirming their commitment to adopt smarter and more responsible financial practices in the future.
