Imphal, January 21 (MExN): Lieutenant General MM Naravane, Eastern Army Commander arrived in Imphal today. He is on a 3 day visit to review the security situation in Manipur and also along the Indo-Myanmar border.
On arrival at Tulihal Airport he was received by Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, stated a press release from PRO, Col C Konwer.
Lieutenant General MM Naravane was briefed on the overall security situation in Manipur. The General Officer expressed his satisfaction on the operational preparedness of the field formations and complimented the troops for ensuring peace and tranquility.
The Commander will also visit forward areas along Indo-Myanmar border and interact with the soldiers deployed at the forward posts.
He will also review the progress of various infrastructure projects being undertaken by Army and Assam Rifles units. He will also be meeting important the civil dignitaries at Imphal.
