GoI declares NSCN (K) as ‘unlawful association’

Kohima, November 14 (MExN): The Government of India has declared the NSCN (K)), including all its factions, wings, and front organisations, as an “Unlawful Association” under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. According to an official statement, the declaration follows Notification No. S.O. 4241(E) dated September 22, 2025, published in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Government of Nagaland further cited the Order dated October 29, 2025, issued by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal in the matter of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang), as well as the Notice issued by the Office of the Registrar, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal on the same date.
