Gorkha Baptist Church, Thahekhu on Sunday celebrated silver jubilee at its premises with a host of Church and public leaders from various areas.
Prior to the devotional service, Executive Secretary of Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu, Rev. Dr. Hevekhu Achumi unveiled jubilee monolith.
During the devotional service, Hokiye Yeptho, Head GB Khehokhu village exhorted the congregation and urged them to be thankful to the pioneers who had gone through difficult situations working for the Church and its members. He encouraged the Gorkhas to remain united and continue to uphold their inherent values of oneness.
Chairman of Thahekhu Village Council, I. Khekuto Yeptho who also exhorted the congregation reminded that the Church has matured into 25 years and encouraged the members to renew their faith in God. He said that attaining 25 years was a reflection of God leading and guiding the Gorkha Baptist Church and urged it to take all good things forward for His glory.
Executive Secretary, AGBCN, K. Santabir Rai delivered the sermon while the Administrator of Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Arthur Edwards also exhorted the gathering.
During the programme, Thahekhu Village Baptist Church and Gorkha Baptist Church Thahekhu Youth presented special song and cultural dance respectively.
