Gorkha students’ Union Dimapur paid tribute to Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya on his 208th birth anniversary.
Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The Gorkha students’ Union Dimapur (GSUD) paid tribute to Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya on his 208th birth anniversary at Gorkha Bhawan, Nepali Basti on July 13.
The union also organised a cultural cum HSLC & HSSLC felicitation programme on account of the 208th Bhanu Jayanti under the theme ‘Our Cultural Our Identity’ at Town Hall, Dimapur on July 17. It was held in Collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur, under Ministry of Culture, GoI.
The programme was graced by Kumar Subba, President, Dimapur Gorkha Union, Ganesh Limbu, President, President, Peren District Gorkha Union, Suraj Chetry, President, All Assam Gorkha Students' Union, Karbi Anglong District Committee, Anil Karki, Vice- president Karbi Anglong Nepali Students Union (Borjan), Advisors Dimapur Gorkha Union and delegates from all the units of DGU.
In this event participants from neighbouring state Assam also performed cultural dance of different cast/tribe of Gorkhas.
The three toppers namely Sonya Karki, top 11 HSLC with 96.67%, Aakrit Bhandari top 10 HSSLC (Science) with 91.20%, and Robin Rawat top 9 HSSLC (Science) with 91.40% under NBSE and well performed students of HSLC/HSSLC were felicitated.
