Wokha, August 3 (MExN): The Gorkha Public Panchayat (GPP) in Wokha joined the Gorkhas across the world in the ‘Global Gorkhaland Unity March’ on July 30.
The march was held across five continents in 150 plus cities, demanding full-fledged state of Gorkhaland under the Indian Union. The participants in Wokha assembled near the Tsumang Lake, where the Gorkha Community GB, D. Dewan briefly highlighted about the purpose of the Unity March, informed a press release from GPP Wokha. Later, the GPP Wokha extended solidarity to the Nagaland Gorkha Association under whose guidance and initiative the ‘Global Gorkhaland Unity March’ was organized successfully in Nagaland.
A memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner at his office. The GPP Wokha has thanked all the Gorkhas for their support and co-operation.
