Chümoukedima, December 29 (MExN): The 3rd Annual Gorkhas Sports Meet 2025 concluded successfully today at Chümoukedima with a vibrant closing ceremony marked by enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and community unity.
The closing ceremony was graced by Bendangchuba Ao, Headmaster of Nagaland Police Central School, Chümoukedima, Advisor of All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Chümoukedima Unit, and a noted Entrepreneur, who attended the programme as the guest speaker. In his address, Ao encouraged the youth to uphold discipline, dedication, and perseverance through sports, highlighting the role of sports in character building and leadership development.
Bishnu Chetri, Principal of North Town Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, and President of Gorkha Union Chümoukedima Town, also graced the occasion as a distinguished guest.
He lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the sports meet and emphasized the importance of unity, healthy competition, and youth empowerment through such events.
The programme witnessed the distribution of prizes to the winning teams and outstanding players, followed by words of appreciation for the volunteers, officials, and participants for their tireless efforts.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and it was officially announced that the 2026 Sports Meet will be hosted by the Gorkha Youth & Students’ Union, Medziphema.
