“Preaching the Gospel will not be easy but we have to commit ourselves to it with the understanding that suffering is uncommon and goes alongside with the proclamation of the word of God,” said Rev. Dr. Atsi Dolie, Executive Secretary of the Angami Baptist Churches Association.
The preacher was delivering the ‘Commencement Allocution’ of the 22nd Commencement of the Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS), Dimapur at the Rengma Baptist Church Dimapur on Sunday.
He told the graduating class that they were living in an ‘exciting time’ to do Ministry with best days ahead and reminded them that they were in serious business with the fate of Christianity in the hands of the present generation. Rev. Dr. Dolie said that it was the duty and responsibility of Christians to protect the Gospel and that it was meant to be communicated and proclaimed.
Suffering, he stated, was uncommon for people and that they even face persecution while proclaiming the Gospel. However, the preacher said, “God forbids that Gospel ends with us but to proclaim it continually. We need to understand that suffering goes alongside with the proclamation of Gospel and even persecution.”
Rev. Dr. Dolie drew reference from 2 Timothy 1: 11-14 while delivering his commencement address.
Rev. Dr. Wati Aier, Principal & Professor of Constructive Theology and Philosophy, OTS, Dimapur said the prayer of dedication while Rev. Vilodi Sakhrie, Chairman, Board of Governors, OTS initiated the conferring of degrees to the graduating students.
Altogether, four students of M.Th and 24 students of M.Div graduated this year from OTS.
