Gov designate Ravi arrives in Nagaland

Nagaland’s Governor designate RN Ravi today arrived Nagaland.
Ravi, who is the fourth interlocutor on the ongoing Naga peace talks and present deputy national security adviser, will assume the new gubernatorial responsibility at Raj Bhavan in Kohima. He will succeed outgoing Governor PB Acharya.
Due to inclement weather, Ravi arrived the state capital Kohima by road through National Highway- 29 after landing Dimapur Airport.
Ravi, who came along with his family members reached Raj Bhavan around 4:45 PM.
On his arrival at Raj Bhavan, Ravi was received by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, Minister for Planning & Coordination and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu and other cabinet Ministers, Advisors, Chief Secretary Temjen Toy and government officials.
Nagaland Police accorded “General Salute” to Ravi on his arrival at Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, Ravi on his arrival at Dimapur airport was received by Minister For Agriculture & Cooperation G. Kaito Aye, Minister for PHED Jacob Zhimomi, Nagaland’s Commissioner M. Patton, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Kevekha Kevin Zehol, Commissioner of Police Dimapur Limasunep Jamir and others.
Ravi was also accorded a warm welcome by the public with traditional attires, representing different tribes at the airport.
Before starting for Nagaland, Ravi held a formal meeting with leaders of NSCN (IM) led by its general secretary Th Muivah and an informal meeting with Working Committee (WC) of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) convener N Kitovi Zhimomi on July 26.
Ravi will take oath as the 19th Governor of Nagaland on August 1 at Raj Bhavan, Kohima at 11:00 AM.
