
Kohima, October 4 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, extended greetings to the Pochury and Khiamniungan communities on the occasions of Yemshe and Tsokum festivals respectively.
In his message to the Pochury community, Bhalla conveyed, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Pochury community and the people of Nagaland on the auspicious occasion of Yemshe Festival.” He described the festival as an expression of gratitude to the Almighty for a bountiful harvest and a prayer for peace, prosperity, and well-being.
He added that Yemshe reflects the unity of the community, the richness of the state’s cultural heritage, and the spirit of togetherness. “May Yemshe bring happiness, harmony and abundant blessings to all and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and goodwill,” he stated.
Extending greetings to the Khiamniungan community on the celebration of Tsokum, Bhalla said, “I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the Khiamniungan community and the people of Nagaland on the joyous occasion of the Tsokum Festival.”
Calling Tsokum the premier festival of the Khiamniungan Nagas, he noted that it is a time to offer thanksgiving to the Almighty for His abundant blessings and to seek prosperity and good health in the days ahead. “May this festival strengthen the bonds of unity, promote peace and preserve the rich cultural heritage of our people,” the Governor said in his message.
