Gov greets on Muharram

Kohima, August 8 (MExN): Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended greetings to the people celebrating Muharram. “Muharram is a sacred occasion for the Muslims. It celebrates selfless sacrifices and victory. Prayers and fasting are observed by the Muslims during this time. Processions are often a part of this auspicious occasion,” the Governor stated in his message. “Considering the surge in COVID situation, I urge everyone to follow Covid appropriate behaviors at all times,” he appealed while adding, “On this very significant occasion, I wish you all good health, peace and prosperity. God bless Nagaland!”
