
DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya has appealed to the people of the state to observe Earth Hour on March 25 from 8:30 to 9:30pm by switching off lights. In a press note through the PRO, Raj Bhavan, the Governor stated that Earth Hour is all about taking steps towards positive change. “Let us play our part in reducing carbon footprint, both in personal life and in the workplace, which is essential in order to create a healthy and environmentally safe world,” he said. He called on the citizens to support the pledge and mitigate emission of Green House Gases by switching off non-essential lights in each household, offices and other spaces. Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the event is held across the globe annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.
