DIMAPUR, APRIL 20 (DIPR): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya today exhorted civil servants to become “agents of change” in their respective organizations and departments.
In his message on the occasion of National Civil Servants Day, the Governor said the day should be used to rededicate oneself to the cause of citizens and renew commitment to public service and excellence in work.
Stating that efficiency and effectiveness in developmental administration is the major need of the hour, he reminded the civil servants to remember that they are not just doing a job but a service to the common man individually and collectively. People look upon the civil servants for resolution of their issues, he added. The Governor held that civil servants are the pillars of development and the backbone of the government and encouraged them to be proactive and work for the cause without any discrimination.
Wishing civil servants the best in service of the people and nation, the Governor pointed out that civil servants have to be loyal to the Constitution of India. “This also means that our civil service has to take the ownership of the public action they are doing and the public assets they are creating” he said.
