Gov visits organic daily market at Dimapur

• Donates an amount of two lakhs to buy pickup truck

• Assures to donate plates, spoons and glasses for daily use

Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya, visited the recently inaugurated organic daily market at Supermarket near Nagarjan traffic Point, Dimapur on September 7.  

A DIPR report stated that interacting with the officials of Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) and Development authority of Nagaland (DAN) at the market place, Governor appreciated the FPO for their initiative towards opening such market which was also in a place that has been lying ideal for the last many years.   

On being learned about the marketing shed which belongs to Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) and the rate fixed at 10, 000 per month, Acharya appealed to the DAN to charge only Rs. 100 per month for atleast one year or till a time when they are well established, saying that it is the duty of everyone to work towards the upliftment of the poor section of people.  

Governor donated Rs. two lakhs to buy a pickup truck to the daily market for transporting their produce to the market place. While speaking about the cleanliness to be maintained in and around the market, Acharya further assured to give plates, spoons and glasses for daily use in the market so that the surrounding is not littered by disposal plates and cups.  

Governor suggested to the vendors to make cloth bags for customers on minimal charges for those who do not bring their own shopping bags and to stop using plastic bags. He also suggested the FPO to make basic necessary arrangement like a proper seat for all vendors and elevated vegetable stand. Governor also suggested the organization to have some specific days marked for different tribes so that they can showcase their specialty and more customers are attracted.  

Governor visited all stalls and bought from almost all the stall and also placed the order of 100 wooden plates from a vendor to be given to the market as promised earlier.  

After his visit to the organic daily market, Governor had a meeting with different non-Naga NGOs in regard to CM's relief fund at Durga Mandir where he appealed to all the participants to generously donate towards the people who have been badly affected by floods, landslides etc. All the participants representing different organisations assured to raise funds and donate towards the same.
