DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): The Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO) has expressed pain at the incidents in Dimapur and Longleng, and stated that “what could have been resolved through patience, understanding and dialogue has been overtaken by denial, arrogance and obstinacy.”
A press note from the TPO condemned the acts of the government that has led to the ultimate lost of lives, grievous injuries and damage of valued properties in various parts of Nagaland. Expressing sadness at the death of two persons in Dimapur, the TPO said: “words seem inadequate but TPO prays that the departed souls find eternal peace and the almighty grant strength to mitigate the sorrow of the family members and close ones.”
It further said that the government is “totally devoid of principles, especially in view of the tripartite agreement that was signed on 30th January 2017 with the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), whereby it was agreed upon to defer the ULB election but reneged unceremoniously.” Without mutual trust and good faith the government and its people will never prosper, it cautioned.
