Government directives on ACR

KOHIMA, APRIL 26 (DIPR): Despite a number of instructions issued from time to time regarding the procedure for writing ACRs and the need for initiating in time by all concerned, it has been observed that initiating and submission of ACRs is still not done in time and in some cases ACRs are initiated after  Reviewing/Accepting Authorities have already demitted office.

ACRs are important documents as the Government has accepted the principle that promotion, confirmation etc should be based on the assessment of the performance of officials as reflected in the ACRs. Therefore, it is necessary that ACRs should not only be carefully and objectively recorded but also recorded within the stipulated time.

It is therefore mandatory for every official to initiate and submit his/her ACR(s) in time and a copy of the forwarding letter to be endorsed to the Vigilance Branch of P&AR Department. Similarly, the Reporting/Reviewing/Accepting authorities are to endorse a copy of the forwarding letter. It is also mandatory for the officer to invariably mention the date and place while signing Part I-B of every ACR.

All Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Department have been directed to comply with the instructions strictly.
