Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DC’s conference hall on July 5. DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS chaired the meeting.
As mentioned in a DIPR report, MLA Moatoshi Longkumer, who attended the meeting, said that employees who are posted in Dimapur are the privileged ones and reminded that they are posted to work for the welfare of the people of Dimapur. He therefore called the gathering to work together and have transparency and accountability while performing their assigned works. He also urged them to do away with selfishness and nepotism and to stand up against pressure from different angles saying that he will also not seek any undue advantage from his side.
Giving importance to cleanliness and beautification of Dimapur town, he said that it should not be the responsibility of some designated departments but it is the duty of every individual.
Agendas regarding opening of new schools namely- Green Valley Academy, Razaphe Village; Noble Roots Academy, Diphupar B Dimapur; Spring Feild School Razaphe, Village Dimapur; Raindrops Academy (Viola Colony Dimapur); Jehovah Jireh School, Vidima Village, Dimapur; Zakihiri Shuya Memorial School, Chumukedima Village, Dimapur; Paramount School, Khaghaboto Town, Dimapur and The Sylvan School, Holohon Colony, Dimapur and upgradation of Dovecote Christian School, Seitheke Basa, Dimapur were discussed and approved to be forwarded to the Government.
The Board also recommended Yimchungru Surale Cultural Society, Chumukedima; Unger Tenem Welfare Society; Zaphu Valeo Society, Urra Village; District Scrap Owners Association, Burma Camp; Global Mission Asia, Thilixu Village; Walford Area Sumi Community (SHG) Dimapur; Trailblazer Society, Dimapur; Village Development Committee, Tokishe Village and Musik-a Society was also discussed and recommended to be forwarded after necessary verifications.
The Board also discussed agenda on removal of all tobacco advertisements from Dimapur and after deliberation the house resolved to constitute a committee.
Highlights of the meeting included PowerPoint presentation on activities of DHO Dimapur by District Horticulture Officer and Smoke free Initiative by DNO, NTCP, Dr. C Tetso. Chairman, Prodigals Home Dimapur, Ela San I also gave a presentation on how to make Dimapur a disabled friendly and accessible district.
