Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has vehemently condemned the cowardice act of killing two youth in Dimapur and injuring many in Longleng at the “anarchical directive” of the Government of Nagaland. NSF, President, Sunbenthung Kithan and General Secretary, Boveio Peoukai Duo in a press statement said that while the whole Naga society has strongly voiced out opposing towards holding the ULB elections, the Government of Nagaland resorted to the most inhuman act of terror killing two youth and injuring several persons.
NSF also stated that it is prerogative and responsibility of the government to maintain social harmony and peace. However, the government has miserably failed to uphold the tripartite agreement signed between the Government of Nagaland, the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and the Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC) as the mediator.
“No human life is more important or precious than election or political interest,” the federation said while conveying its condolences to the bereaved families and also prays for the speedy recovery of the injured persons.
The federation condemns the treacherous act committed by the state government. “Therefore, the state government must own the responsibility for the present social unrest in the state,” the federation added.
