
Mon, June 20 (DIPR): The Mon District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Angau I. Thou on June 19 at the DC’s conference hall, Mon.
Welcoming the members present the DC informed that the Government is seriously concern for the development of the four districts of Eastern Nagaland and the presence of Government officers posted in these districts. The DC called upon the officers posted in Mon district to be in their respective place of posting and deliver justice to the people. She also appealed to the officers to retrospect and change their mindset and attitude for the development of the district.
In order to check the presence of officers in their respective place of posting, she said the district administration along with Konyak Students Union (KSU) would be conducting surprise checking in all the Government office in the district. The list of the absentees would be brought to the notice of the highest authority, she added. She also urged upon the head of offices and the members of the DPDB to extend their fullest cooperation and support for the success of the two days DC's conference at Longwa shortly.
EE (PHED) Mon highlighted his departmental activities to the house while ADC Aboi reported about the grievances faced by the students of Aboi. He informed that in one of the GMS in Aboi there were only 88 bench and desk for 784 students. He also informed about the bad condition of toilets with no water connection in the schools and poor condition of government quarters in Aboi. He suggested remedies for proper implementation of the civil works under SSA/RMSA and sanitation programme of PHED. In this regard the DC urged for the convergence of PHED, World Vision and SSA/RMSA for construction of toilets in the Schools. She urged upon the administrative officer to play a wider role by supervising and monitoring the various schemes of the Government for effective implementation under their respective jurisdiction. She also suggested adopting rainwater harvesting in the schools where there is no water supply connection.
After a lengthy discussion on the issues, the house approved to purchase benches, desks and extension of class rooms in the Government Schools where the enrolment of the students was very high from LADP. It approved financial assistants to the Konyak Students Union (KSU) under LADP (Common Pool) for exposure trip. It also approved financial assistants to the Mon District Amateur Muaythai Association, representing All Nagaland Amateur Muaythai Association to participate in the 13th IFMA India National Muaythai Championship 2012 at Chennai from July 7 to 9. 12 players in various categories and 1 coach-cum-referee and Judge from Mon District Amateur Muaythai Association will leave for Chennai.
