Government reminded of incomplete roads

Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Nagaland, has put up their request to the government to implement the work and complete the Kopanala-Mhainamtsi Road at the earliest. Also making a plea to the government to repair the road from Peren to Tening, the Union pointed out that this road had not been repaired for the past many years. “If it is not repaired at the earliest, time will come when vehicles will not be able to ply on that road and the worst sufferer would be the public of the area,” stated Pausuigumbe Lungalang, general secretary of ZSU(N), in a press release.

The Union also requested all the contractors under Peren district to maintain quality work, reminding that the student body remained “always vigilant”. It further requested all the officers under Peren district to be regular in the office, in view of the public facing difficulties in getting their work done in time while waiting for the officers to turn up at the office.

The Union, through the release, further acknowledged the government for taking up the issue of safeguarding ‘national property’, and expressed that the students’ union would “support and always safeguard their land”. Further, the 1st Presidential Council meeting of the ZSU(N) was held on July 7 at Old Tesen Village, and was hosted by the Tesen Students’ Union (N), it was informed.
