Governor appeals for contributions to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): In view of the upcoming Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7, Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has urged the citizens of the state to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. The day is observed nationwide to honor the martyrs and the brave men and women in uniform who have dedicated their lives to the service of the nation.

According to a DIPR report, Governor Ganesan emphasized that the country remains forever indebted to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland. “It is our duty to not only show our admiration for the martyrs and the living heroes who were wounded while doing their duties but also to their families who have been a crucial part of this sacrifice,” the Governor stated. 

“Our flag represents hopes and aspirations of the people and a symbol of our national pride. On this occasion,” the Governor went on to state while appealing to all citizens to contribute generously towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the welfare of serving Defence Personnel, Battle Casualties, War Widows, Resettlement of Ex- Servicemen and their dependents. “On this Armed Forces Flag Day, may the spirit of patriotism and respect fill our hearts. In the face of adversity, our armed forces stand strong. May we always remember and appreciate their bravery. A big salute to our brave soldiers for their sacrifices,” the Governor said.
