
Kohima, March 27 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has lauded the call made by the Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) for aid towards the people affected by fire which broke out at Khermahal in Dimapur recently. He stated that every organised group should take care of the society whenever there is a need, informed a press release from PRO, Raj Bhavan. “Appealing for help or aid in newspapers and other platforms should only be the beginning to address the issues,” he added. The Governor further called on the various organisations to do something for the society in their organised strength. He maintained that sentiment towards helping the society should be there.
Condolences offered
In a separate condolence message, the Governor expressed shock at the demise of Wokshing Phom, former MLA on March 26 in Dimapur. The condolence message addressed to Apokla, wife of Wokshing Phom, stated “the State has lost a politician who was always concerned about the welfare of the people.” Acharya mentioned that Wokshing Phom had served the people of Nagaland in different capacities as a Pastor, Chairman of Tamlu Area Council and Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. “He dedicated his entire life towards the welfare of the Naga society. His demise has left a great void which will be hard to fill,” the Governor added.
