DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya, in a letter to the Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC), informed that he has directed the Nagaland State Chief Minister to address the latter’s demands “promptly and impartially.”
The Governor who is held up in Itanagar as he has been given additional charge of Arunachal Pradesh also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families of the two people who died in Dimapur. The Governor informed that he would be reaching the state on February 6.
“I appeal to all in the interest of justice, peace and reconciliation the bodies of two deceased young men be buried as per the customs and practises as early as possible,” he urged.
“I value your cooperation and appeal to you in these trying circumstances to maintain peace and harmony and have a constructive dialogue with the Government and solve the issue amicably,” the Governor added.
Earlier, the NTAC had written to the Governor demanding the resignation of the Nagaland CM and his cabinet, the ULB election process presently in force be declared null and void, and the erring police officers and personnel be immediately suspended.
