Governor, Dy CM extend festival greetings

Kohima, August 6 (MExN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM)  Y Patton on Thursday extended Biam greetings.

“I extend my warm Biam greetings to my Khiamniungan brothers and sisters and all the people of Nagaland,” the Governor wrote in his message.

Stating that the rituals performed at the granary during the Biam festival reflects the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of our people, the Governor urged the youth to carry it forward. He also prayed for God’s blessings “as we celebrate the festival at home during this extraordinary COVID-19 situation.” In a separate message, state Dy CM Y Patton sent his greetings to the Khiamniungan and the Yimchunger communities, as they celebrate Biam and Metemneo festivals on August 7 and 8 respectively. The Dy CM said that even during difficulties and crisis, one should not forget to celebrate the legacy left behind by our forefathers. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton wished them very happy and meaningful festive celebrations.
