Governor extends greetings to Konyak and Phom communities

Kohima, April 2 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended greetings to the Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of Aoleang and Phom Monyu festivals.  

The Governor in a press release issued by his PRO stated that the festivals mark the end of the sowing season and is a time for jubilation through dance, songs, food and thanksgiving seeking good fortune and blessings. He called on both the communities to take time and thank Almighty for his “unwavering love and blessing.”  

Acharya also called on all to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals and to come together and rededicate ourselves to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.  

“May the festival of Aoleang and Phom Monyu bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Konyak and Phom communities in particular and Nagas in general,” he wished.
