Kohima, February 26 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended greetings to the Angami community on the occasion of Sekrenyi festival 2018. Stating that Sekrenyi is one of the most significant festivals of the Angamis, Acharya observed that such festivals give all the chance to sanctify and purify oneself.
Sekrenyi is an occasion for merry making and giving one a welcomed break from daily routines, the Governor added, according to a press release from PRO, Raj Bhavan. “It is an occasion to rededicate oneself with renewed vigour to achieve peace, progress and prosperity.”
Acharya reminded that the festival should be a source for building unity and called on all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State. “May the festival of Sekrenyi bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Angamis in particular and Nagas in general,” the Governor wished.
