Governor extends Toskum, Yemshe greetings

Calls for appreciating the farmers’ hard work  

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended his Toskum and Yemshe festivals greetings, the premier festivals of the Khiamniungan and Pochury Communities respectively. The festival falls on October 5.  

“Both festivals are marked with people rejoicing the fruit of their hard work and praying for a bountiful harvest,” Acharya said in a message addressed to both communities.  

“Take time and thank Almighty for His unwavering love and blessing.”  

The festivals should provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength, Acarya opined encouraging the two tribes to safeguard and promote their rich culture and traditions through their festivals.  

It should be a source for building unity, he said calling on everyone to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State.  

“May the festivals of Toskum and Yemshe bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Khiamniungan and Pochury communities in particular and Nagas in general.”  

Meanwhile, the Governor also reminded them to appreciate the farmers who provides for everyone with their hard work.  

It should be responsibility of every citizen to made known to them various welfare projects of the Central and State Governments and motivate them to avail the services for their benefit’ he urged.
