Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland & Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya and several organizations today extended Eid ul-Fitr greetings to the people of the State.
Acharya in a press release issued by his PRO conveyed warm greetings to the people of Nagaland, particularly to all Muslim “brothers and sisters” on the occassion. “I hope that this sacred occasion will usher in goodwill and harmony and further strengthen the values of composite society,” he stated.
The Governor pointed out that the festival of Eid ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the Holy Month of ‘Ramzan’, the month of prayers, blessings and forgiveness. It reminds every members of the community their obligations and responsibilities towards other members of the society, especially the poor and downtrodden for peaceful coexistence and equitable progress of the State and the nation, he added.
“On this Eid, I wish that Allah’s blessings light up the path oneness and lead to happiness and success.”
MCD: The Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) in a separate press release also extended greetings to all citizens of Nagaland on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr. A. Rahman, Woking President of MCD hoped that the festival of universal peace and brotherhood would bring a new era of peace, unity and brotherhood among the different tribes and communities living together in Nagaland. MCD also informed all concerned that the Eid Namaz in Dimapur will be held at the local IDDGAH Prayer Ground at 8:00 am on June 26.
DDCF: The Dimapur District Citizens Forum also wished all the Muslim “brothers and sisters” living in the state of Nagaland a happy Eid. In a press release, Joseph N Lemtur, the president of DDCF also thanked the Muslim brothers for their patience in observing the month long fasting and prayers – Ramadan/ Ramzan. He hoped that the festival would bring more peace and prosperity to the citizens of Dimapur.
NPF Minority Wing: Extending warm greetings to the Muslim community on behalf of the Wing, Naga People’s Front (NPF) Minority Wing (Central) president, Bishnu Bhattacharjee expressed hope that the joyous occasion would be the herald of sustained peace, prosperity and happiness and would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood relationship.
