100th episode screened at Raj Bhavan Kohima
Kohima, April 30 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan today expressed hope that many more achievers from the State would find mention in the future episodes of Mann Ki Baat, a monthly radio programme featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the special screening Mann Ki Baat‘s 100th episode at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Sunday, Ganesan highlighted the interaction of PM Modi with an NCC cadet from Nagaland as well as appreciation to the Lidi Kro-u society, a group from Kohima Village, for their effort in preservation and propagation of the Naga traditional arts and crafts.
As per a DIPR report, the Governor said this while noting that the programme features stories of change makers from different parts of the country, who are otherwise missed out by the mainstream media.
Ganesan further noted that the Prime Minister conducts the programme with the objective of establishing a dialogue with the citizens of the country on issues of day-to-day governance.
The programme has become a unique festival of the goodness and positivity of the people of India and it celebrates people's participation, he added.
Meanwhile, during the 100th episode, PM Modi called on people to visit 15 tourist destinations, outside their own state, in the country and shared a message from Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, among others.
He also stressed that significant changes can be brought through collective efforts and noted that the Mann Ki Baat has always moved forward with goodwill, service- orientation and duty-bound spirit.
Advisor, Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen graced the special screening as the Chief Guest. Assistant Director, PIB, Sonukumar Singh Konjengbam, IIS delivered the welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by DDE/ HOO, DDK, Kohima, B Srinivasa Rao.
In commemoration of the 100th episode, an exhibition was put up by the Central Bureau of Communication, Kohima depicting change makers mentioned in the programme over the years. The first episode of Mann Ki Baat was aired on October 3, 2014.
