
Phek, April 26 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya held interactions with Deputy Commissioner Phek, Muroho Chotso, Chozuba Sub Division Administration and other officers at Chozuba on April 25 during his visit to Ruzaho village.
According to a press release, the Governor called on the Sub Division Officers to dedicate themselves in serving the people of the area and that the people should not be deprive of their rights.
Holding the officers “accountable and answerable to the public”, Governor Acharya advised, “Be bold and work for the people.”
Expressing concern on the education sector, the Governor said that the SDEO should check that there are no proxy teachers under his jurisdiction. While pointing out that government school teachers are paid more than private school teachers and are recruited through exams, Governor Acharya lamented that the results of the Government school remain unsatisfactory and insisted, “This trend should change”.
Arguing that education is the foundation of a developed society, the Governor asked the concern department to work towards achieving its goal.
Acharya also urged the concern officers to demand for up gradation of schools to meet the demand for taking in more students. Student should not be made to travel to Kohima, Dimapur or other town for their higher secondary education, he maintained.
Stressing on the need for good roads, the Governor asked the PWD to improve the road connecting the sub division.
He stated that roads are the “life line to development” and added that good roads will in turn boost tourism sector in the sub division.
The Governor also advised the officers to highlight the various schemes and welfare programmes of the state and central government such as Food Security, Jan Dhan Yojana, senior citizens schemes, Kisan Credit Card etc.
Governor Acharya also met with representatives of the Chozuba Range Public Organisation, who submitted a representation for establishment of a college at Chozuba to meet the needs of the students. The Governor assured to forward the matter to the Minister in charge.
