Kohima, January 26 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, officially launched the Chief Minister’s Mobile Operation Theatre during the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the Secretariat Plaza in Kohima. The event was attended by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Chief Secretary Dr. J. Alam, IAS, among other dignitaries.
The mobile operation theatre is aN initiative aimed at delivering advanced surgical and healthcare services to rural and remote areas of Nagaland. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for minimally invasive surgeries, it seeks to address healthcare disparities and promote equitable access to medical care in underserved communities.
The facility features a fully equipped mobile surgical unit and portable diagnostic tools, including ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, and blood testing equipment. These capabilities allow for advanced procedures such as keyhole surgeries to be conducted in isolated areas lacking access to specialized medical facilities.
A dedicated medical team from Kohima Hospital, supported by doctors from both private and government healthcare institutions, will operate the unit. The initiative underscores a commitment to providing high-quality healthcare directly to the doorstep of marginalized populations, ensuring timely and life-saving interventions.
