Governor, others extend Eid greetings

Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of month long prayer and fasting of Ramadan, Governor PB Acharya and various organizations have extended greetings to the Muslim community in Nagaland.
 
The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya conveyed warm greetings to the people of Nagaland, particularly the Muslim community. He hoped that the sacred occasion will usher in good will and harmony and further strengthen the values of composite society everywhere. In a press release, he noted that the festival reminds every member of the community their obligations and responsibilities towards other members of the society, especially the poor and downtrodden for peaceful coexistence and equitable progress of the State and the nation. Acharya prayed that Allah’s blessings light up the path of oneness and lead to happiness and success on the occasion.
 
The Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) wished ‘Idd Mubarak’ to all citizens of Nagaland. A Rahman, working president of MCD while extending the greetings on behalf of the Council hoped that with the celebration of Eid, a new era of peace, brotherhood, prosperity and unity will prevail among all sections of people in the society.
 
Dimapur Bengali Samaj meanwhile hoped that Eid will bring a lot of happiness and joy in the lives of all the believers. “May this festival of Love and Goodwill bring in Brotherhood and Sympathy amongst all,” wished the Samaj in a press release issued by KK Paul, president.
 
In another press release, Dimapur Meetei Council (DMC) extended warm greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to “all the Muslim brothers and sisters of Nagaland with the hope that the festival would bind the people with peace, happiness and brotherhood.” The press release was issued by DMC executive member, Prem Singh.
 
The Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF), a collective forum of all tribes and communities of Dimapur, also conveyed Eid greetings to the “Muslim brothers and sisters” of Nagaland. Joseph Lemtur, president of the Forum was hopeful that the festival would “definitely usher peace and unity among all citizens.”
