Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi visited the Centrally Sponsored Mulberry Silk Plantations in Akuhaiqa under Bhandari Sub-Division of Wokha District and Manufacturing Unit in New Chungtia, Mokokchung implemented by Samvrudi, Weaving Units.
He also inspected the main plantation and rearing houses for the worms and cocoons.
According to an update from PRO to Governor, during his visit on April 12, Ravi appreciated the entrepreneurial drive of the people behind it which has also created employment opportunities for several hundred women of the area.
The Governor also inaugurated building of Government Primary School, Akuhaiqa reconstructed by Samvrudi.
Ravi expressed concern at the inadequate health and education infrastructures in the area and added “children, who are our most precious future assets, should not be made into a liability due to absence of adequate growth opportunities through access to education, health care and proper communication.”
