Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland has ordered total ban on the sale or use of spring type coil heating elements, including the associated proclaim base and plate in the state with immediate effect. A press note issued by R. Binchilo Thong, Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland stated that in the interest of the public service and as a precautionary measure on safety and steps towards energy conservation, the sale or use of spring coil heating elements, including the associated proclaim base and plate is banned. It is an offence and illegal and would invite penalty in the form of electricity disconnection, fine or imprisonment as per the Electricity Act, 2003, the note added further.
