
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has called upon the public for consultation on Draft Nagaland Biodiversity Rules 2010.
The member secretary of Expert Committee for Drafting, Vengota Nakro in a press note has informed that the government has constituted a six member Expert Committee to draft the Nagaland Biological Diversity Rules. The Committee, in series of meetings and wide range public consultations, had finally drafted the Nagaland Biodiversity Rules – 2010.
“We solicit, your comments to or validation of, this Draft Rule - 2010 through public consultations to be held in four district Headquarters, namely, Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon,” it stated.
Representatives from Phek, Dimapur, Peren and Kohima, the consultation meet will be conducted in Kohima on October 20, 10:00 am to 12 noon. For Mon district the meet will be held at Mon on October 21, 2:00 pm. Representatives from Kiphire, Longleng and Tuensang, it will be held at Tuensang on October 25, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Further for Wokha, Zunheboto and Mokokchung, the meet will be held in Mokokchung on October 26, 10:00 am to 12 noon.
The representatives are requested to attend the consultation and give their "valuable inputs" to the Draft Rules.
The note also informed that the representatives should be from the District head of office of Agri. & Allied Departments, Colleges in Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon, Town and Municipal Councils, Chamber of Commerce of Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon, Police (DEF and NAP Battalions), District and Sub-divisional Administrations, Tribal Apex Bodies and Student Organisations and any concerned citizens.
