KOHIMA, NOV 22 (DIPR): In a bid to provide congenial working environment in the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, State Government is working on a plan to put more checking on visitors and streamline issue of entry card and car pass to Government officials. This was informed by the Principal Secretary, Home in the monthly meeting of Secretaries and Heads of Departments in Kohima on 21st November 2005.
Under the proposed plan, all officers working in the Secretariat who are attached with Government vehicles will be asked not to enter the Secretariat with unauthorized persons and if need be they will be subject to security checking at the main entrance.
Entry card to visitors will also be streamlined. Officers or employees whom the visitors want to see will be clearly written in the entry card and the concerned officers or the employees will sign the visitors’ entry card after meeting the visitors. Visitors loitering around the Secretariat will not be allowed. Parking area outside the Secretariat will also be re-designated to provide parking area for employees of the Secretariat.
Chief Secretary Talitemjen who chaired the meeting said Government will not compromise with the security of the Secretariat nor will it be left to the ‘hands of God’.
He appealed to officers and staff of the Secretariat and general public to understand the security of the Secretariat. The meeting also considered opening of an extension counter by Vijaya Bank in the Secretariat.
To celebrate Pre-Christmas in the Secretariat on 16th December, a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Sentiyanger, IAS.
