Govt. decision on Referral Hospital lauded

Kohima: While appreciating the State government’s initiative to convert the erstwhile Referral Hospital, Dimapur into the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research Society (CIHSRS) in collaboration with CMC, Vellore, Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA); the Nagaland Medical Graduates Association (NMGA) has requested the State government to maintain Medical and Health Services on encaderment basis.

This decision was arrived at by the NMGA at its general meeting held on July 23 at Tourist Lodge, Kohima. The members deliberated on issues such as service matters, execution of efficient health services, problems faced by medical officers in rural areas, medical services delivered to the public and matters pertaining to the department.

Referring to the RHD venture, the association commented that 18 years was a period long enough for a project to either ‘function or waste.’ It re-iterated its stand to trust in the sagacity of the government in the matter pertaining to the RHD. The NMGA further endorsed its trust on the CMC Vellore, EHA in its voyage to serve needy patients diligently.

As such, the association has asked for the undeterring support of the public in the government’s endeavour of setting up the CIHSRS.
