Kohima, April 1 (MExN): Anand Mahindra and the Naandi Team who were in Nagaland recently at the invitation of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had an hour long deliberation with him at his residence in Dimapur.
At the end of the discussion a Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) was signed between the Government of Nagaland, represented by DK Bhalla, Commissioner and Secretary
Social Welfare and Women Development and Naandi Foundation represented by Manoj
Kumar, CEO, on March 30 at Dimapur in the presence of the Chief Minister.
According to a release issued by DK Bhalla, Naandi Foundation will undertake need assessment exercise and draw up a two year implementation plan in consultation with the GoN, Department of Women development.
DETAILS OF MoU
• Naandi and GoN will establish a broad based partnership to work in the area of livelihoods;
• The interventions will have a focus on farm and non farm activities;
• Farm based interventions will evolve around organic farming and strengthening of farmers institutions;
• Non farm interventions will focus on women empowerment; and
• Both farm and non farm interventions will have a focus in establishing financial and market linkages.
