Says teacher redeployment affected without replacement
TUENSANG, APRIL 28 (MExN): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang/Chang Students' Conference (CWS) has directed all the government employees posted in Tuensang to be at their respective places of posting without fail. The decision in this regard was taken at the CWS' first “monthly review meeting” held on April 26, informed a press release issued by the CWS on April 28.
It specifically mentioned medical personnel posted at the District Hospital, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Sub-centres.
The press statement also expressed CWS’s strong opposition to the practice of employing proxy teachers and what it stated was “random rationalisation of teachers” in the district.
While drawing the attention of the Department of School Education (DoSE) to consider reviewing the “rationalization” policy or teachers’ redeployment, it said that the redeployment of teachers has reportedly had a negative impact in the government schools of Tuensang, wherein many teachers have been transferred from the district without replacement; hampering the academic activities of the schools and the career of students.
According to the CWS, many government schools in the district are running “without requisite teachers,” which was reportedly a result of “random rationalisation of teachers” without following the “staffing pattern notification” issued by the DoSE on March 28, 2022.
