KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 7 (MExN): The Directorate of Art & Culture (Art Wing) is organizing an ‘Art Ensemble’ under the theme ‘Explore,’ to facilitate interactions among artists of varied disciplines and to exhibit their works at the Directorate of Art & Culture (Art Wing), Kohima from November 17 to 19.
A press release from the Director for Art and Culture informed that the event is also intended to explore the possibilities of forming an Art Consortium of interested artists and art enthusiasts to launch a project titled ‘A thousand Art Project’ to help the artists in the state and to make the Art Wing a Centre of Creative Arts to impart art trainings, conduct art researches and studies etc.
A competition of ‘Android Photography’ on the event will be held on the first day with one android phone as award. There will also be a Students’ Spot Painting Competition on the theme ‘Naga’ to “inspire better understanding of our own roots and culture.”
The release informed that organizers will provide acrylic colors and papers for the participants but they will need to bring their own brushes and color pallets etc. Result will be declared on the same day. The best five works of the competition will be selected by a panel of judges, to be awarded cash prizes of Rs 5000 each and 5 consolation prizes of Rs1000 each. Certificates of appreciation will be awarded to all participants. Participants have been informed to reach the venue latest by 9:30am on November 17.
