KOHIMA, JUNE (DIPR): Government would make greater efforts to finalise all pension cases without allowing retiring officers and employees to suffer for want of their pension benefits in time. In this connection the Chief Secretary felt that there is a need to work in tandem among various Government Departments, Treasury & Accounts and the Accountant General (AG), Kohima.
The decisions was made in The meeting of Administrative Heads of Departments (AHOD) of Nagaland Government was held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the conference room of Chief Secretary’s office in the Civil Secretariat.
Issue of excess appointment of staff in some departments, officiating promotion without Departmental promotion committee sitting and recruitment policy of the Government were also discussed. The meeting reviewed the minutes of the last AHOD meeting held on March 7, 2007 and action taken report from the Administrative Heads.
The meeting decided to constitute a high level committee to look into the entire gamut of the issue and suggest measures to address the problem.
The Committee will be headed by Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, Lalthara. Early completion of the ongoing Construction of Directorate office buildings in the capital complex area was also discussed at the meeting.
ACS and Development Commissioner, Lalthara sought progress report of the building from the concerned Directorates and said that ways and means will be explored for according additional fund, if required.
The proposed construction of a Civil Services Club in Kohima and the resources required was also presented and discussed in the meeting. A power point on Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)-XIII was presented by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) officials in the meeting.
RIDF is a special window of the NABARD to assist the State Government to create quality infrastructure in rural areas.
To get more detail information on consolidation list of activities proposed for RIDF-XIII, the meeting decided to hold meeting with NABARD officials. Status of communitization of public institutions and services were also discussed at the meeting.
Earlier the meeting was presided over by the Chief Secretary Lalhuma.
