Kohima, December 1 (MExN): The Department of School Education (DoSE), under the Nagaland Education Project—The Lighthouse (NECTAR), unveiled the SMILE App during the Statehood Day celebrations. This advanced digital tool leverages facial recognition, timestamping, and geofencing technologies to streamline attendance management and leave applications for teachers and employees.
The SMILE App, designed to improve administrative efficiency and accountability, is accessible to users regardless of their technical proficiency. By addressing challenges such as proxy attendance and manual record-keeping, the app aims to enhance data integrity and reduce administrative burdens. The app will become operational for schools at the start of the 2025 academic session, with Department establishments set to adopt it from January 2, 2025.
