The newly appointed Government Nominee Members of Niuland Town Council took the Oath of Affirmation on January 27.
Niuland, January 29 (MExN): A meeting was convened for administering Oath of Affirmation to the newly appointed government nominee members of Niuland Town Council in the DC’s conference hall on January 27.
The three newly appointed Government Nominee Members of Niuland Town Council who took the Oath of Affirmation were Tovili Zhimo, Ghotoi Awomi and Isawoto Zhimomi, stated a press release.
The meeting was chaired by S Athsangla, NCS ADC & EO and attended by the Elected Members of Niuland Town Council, Administrative Officers, Niuland and the newly appointed Government Nominee Members of Niuland Town Council.
The chairperson welcomed all the newly appointed Government Nominee Members of Niuland Town Council and all the members present at the meeting and further handed over the time to the Deputy Commissioner, Niuland to administer Oath of Affirmation.
The Deputy Commissioner, Niuland Sara S Jamir (NCS) administered the Oath to the three newly appointed Government Nominee Members as per the list notified by the Government. The roles and responsibility and limitation on the power of the Government Nominee Members was explained as per Section 10 (4) and Section 22 (5) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023.
The meeting concluded with concluding remarks and vote of thanks from the chair.
