DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation has taken serious view of the truancy of government officials posted at Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire and has appealed to the officials concern to be sincere and give extra effort in their official duties to bring the backward people at par with other tribes of Nagaland.
In a statement issued by its General Secretary, Methna Konyak, the ENSF said it was observed and confirmed that many officials are not stationed in their respective posting places for months together in some cases but their salaries were drawn in time without delay.
“There are also many instances and reports of HOD’s signing the office pay bills from their heavenly abode in their respective home towns. Such callous attitude and practice of such officers are only alienating the backward people towards the arena of pre-history age when people are taking up computer age,” it said.
The ENSF reminded that the twin representation submitted to the State H&FW Minister and Governor of Nagaland by the Konyak Students’ Union and the Chang Students’ Union respectively about the pathetic and ailing hospitals at Mon and Tuensang towns as glaring examples of the irregularities committed by the government officials and the negligence of higher authorities.
The ENSF asked the authorities to treat the people of the four districts as “any other human beings” and look into the grievances urgently by facilitating requisite number of doctors, staffs and medicines to the poor and downtrodden backward people of the state.
The ENSF further cautioned that it would be keeping strict vigil on the irregularities of the government officials and take its own course of action against the defaulters without any notice.
