Kohima, October 15 (DIPR): The Commissioner Nagaland has released the Financial Assistance for the victims of Mokokchung town incident on August 24 to 29, 2003, amounting to Rs. 2,49,09,640 by Demand Draft No. 560267 dated 10/10/2011. In a separate letter, Financial Assistance for the victims of Wungram Colony incident of 22nd April 2007 has also released, amounting to Rs. 1,19,71,650 by Demand Draft No. 560268 dated 10/10/2011 and Rs. 2,64,86,710/- for the victims of Vihokhu Village incidents of June 28, 2008 by Demand Draft No. 560269 dated 10/10/11. Thus the amount released for the victims for Mokokchung, Wungram Colony and Vihokhu is Rs. 6,33,68,000. The Commissioner has therefore requested the Deputy Commissioners of Mokokchung and Dimapur that the APRs in original and all other necessary documents with regards to the disbursement of the sanction/relief be submitted to Commissioner Office for onward submission to the Government. In addition to the Nagaland Commissioner’s letter, the Home Commissioner in a note has stated that the concerned district authorities should disburse the amount to each victim after proper evidence of identification for future reference.
