Govt. reprimands advocate on job comments

Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): The department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms has objected to what was said to be the statement on the state’s ‘job reservation quota case’ and results of the LDA-computer assistant examinations, made by one advocate Mayangtemjen in the press on February 2.
The department clarified today on his statement in a press release appended by Chubasangla Anar, Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. The department said that the Chakhesang Public Organization has filed a petition to their main Public Interest Litigation over the job reservation. They have specifically sought the court’s intervention to suspend the advertisement issued for filling up various vacancies for LDA-computer assistant as well as NPSC recruitments, the P& AR stated.
In its judgment on October 4, 2010, the court directed the government not to finalize the selection “and act upon the same without leave of this court.” As for the LDA-computer assistant examinations, the department stated, the interview and selection process was complete by November 26, 2010. “As required by the high court, the government advocate was asked on the 30th November, 2010 to file a Miscellaneous Petition requesting the honorable high court’s permission to declare the results for the said examination,” the release said.
The miscellaneous petition is yet to be heard and disposed off by the court. According to information available with the department, the clarification stated, the main case is listed to be taken up in the court on February 14, 2011 and the petition will be taken up as well if deemed fit by the court. “The irresponsible and provocative statement made by advocate Mayangtemjen aimed at misguiding the public is highly objectionable, unfortunate, undesirable and deplorable,” the department added.
