Govt setting up dedicated power supply for COVID-19 hospitals and observation centres

An 11/0.4 KV 500 KVA dedicated Sub-station at COVID-19 Hospital (Civil Hospital) Dimapur.
 

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Department of Power today informed that dedicated transformer and associated lines are being installed at designated COVID-19 hospitals and observation centres for quarantine across the state.


This includes an 11/0.4 KV 500 KVA transformer for the COVID-19 Hospital at Dimapur District Hospital, 11/0.4 KV 100 KVA transformer and LT cabling works for the COVID-19 Hospital at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, 11/0.4 KV 25 KVA transformer with associated 11 KV and LT lines at Peren Quarantine centre and installation of 3 phase LT line at the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Chümoukedima. 


According to a press release from Chief Engineer (D&R) Indianoba Tally, the Department has also inspected and carried out repair and installation works for power connections at various designated quarantine centers and isolation centers that were identified and earmarked by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the District Administration. 


Stating that the Department has taken up installations works on ‘war footing’ considering the urgency of the need and importance of power supply in these centres, it expressed gratitude to the law enforcing agencies and volunteers from various organizations for allowing passage to the Power Department’s workforce to carry out their duties.
