Kohima (MExN): Minister for school education Imkong L Imchen said that the government would work out some modalities to address the unqualified and untrained teachers in the state. The minister said there are 2000 under metric teachers in the state and another 2000 teachers are just mere matriculate.
Further, 60 per cent of teachers are untrained, the minister said. Imchen said with the change in the course and the increases in volume of teaching, they cannot cope with it.
Saying that the government teachers are being paid much higher than those in private institutions, the minister wondered as to how the performance are not up to the mark.
He said that if they do not want to work they should get out from teaching profession. If they are not interested to serve, better leave the job, he said.
