KOHIMA: Seeing the importance of Hindi language, the state government is contemplating to introduce Hindi from Class 4 in the government run institutions from 2006.
Hindi is an international language. It is a very important subject, Minister for School Education Imkong L. Imchen told media persons on Wednesday.
The use of Hindi subject at the later stage does not help students much, he said adding the new arrangement would solve the problem faced by students due to the subject being introduced late in school.
Hindi subject will be taken in descending order in schools - Class 4- 2006, Class III- 2007, Class 11- 2008 and Class I- 2009.
Further, he is expected to pursue the matter with the Ministry of Human Resource Development to make available some funds towards the task.
