Govt waiting for green signal to start NIMSR Kohima session

Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Y Kikheto Sema today informed that the green sign is being awaited to begin the first session of the Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima. Informing this to media personnel today, he said works are ongoing on war footing. 

Following the first visit of the National Medical Commission (NMC) officials on January 10, Sema informed that a notice was sent expressing dissatisfaction on the infrastructures, faculty recruitment etc.

Subsequently, the works have progressed significantly. He informed that 3 NMC officials who visited on March 27 expressed satisfaction with the works. Stating that things are getting ready, Sema informed that an MoU was signed with the contractors to finish the library and teaching classes.

He also informed that books for the library have arrived this morning while equipments will be arriving soon. The faculty who were appointed in the first and second recruitment processes would also be joining very soon.

Sema informed that it is awaiting the green signal from by the NMC, through either a Letter of Permission (LoP) or a Letter of Intent (LoI).
